Our Chiropractors in Abbotsford are Dedicated to Their Patients’ Well-Being

ALTUS Chiropractic and Physiotherapy offers the greatest chiropractic care for people and families to help them attain their optimal level of health and well-being, rather than just pain relief. It’s just one of the many ways we differ from the competition.

Inspiring and Motivating People

Inspire and empower individuals to lead the healthiest lives possible is our goal statement. Because of this, we know that our bodies are capable of functioning, healing, and re-creating. When the spine is out of alignment, it causes problems for the nervous system. So that natural healing may take place, we’re working to remove the barriers to this inborn ability.

Chiropractic is derived from the Greek terms cheir and praktos, which imply “done by hand” when put together. It was selected by Daniel David Palmer, the man who invented chiropractic therapy.

Harvey Lillard, a partially deaf janitor, had a chiropractic adjustment by D.D. Palmer in 1895 and later stated that the alteration had improved his hearing.

Chiropractic doctors have been using spinal adjustments to heal clients with back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, muscular strain, headaches, and migraines for over a century since D.D. Palmer founded the first chiropractic college two years later. Dr. Palmer’s work continues to have a positive impact on the lives of millions of people today.

Prior to enrolling in a chiropractic institution, prospective chiropractors must have completed at least four years of undergraduate study in the basic sciences or have several years of experience in another health care area.

When learning how to diagnose and treat your body, chiropractic students must spend at least 4,200 hours with their teacher and 1,000 hours in clinical training under close supervision in order to assist your body heal and get back to its normal, fully functional state.

Our chiropractic team at ALTUS Chiropractic and Physiotherapy is ready to meet with you and learn more about your health concerns. We’ll work with you to come up with a plan that works best for your needs. We’re excited to meet you and look forward to working with you.

Here’s some advice on how to choose an excellent chiropractic clinic in Abbotsford. In most cases, people in Abbotsford who need a chiropractor conduct an internet search and choose a chiropractor from the results that appear.

Just because someone ranks highly in a Google search for “chiropractor” does not mean they are the ideal choice for you. To choose the best chiropractor for you, follow the procedures outlined below.

In Abbotsford, finding a chiropractor is as simple as following these four steps:

Step 1: Perform a Google Search
In the search bar, enter one of the following words:
Chiropractor Abbotsford
Chiropractor V2S 6J3
Chiropractor near me
Best chiropractor in Abbotsford

Step 2: Review Their Website
When it comes to websites, the greatest Abbotsford chiropractors go the extra mile. You may learn a lot about a doctor by looking at their website to see if they are a suitable fit for you.

Step 3: Check Their Reviews
Do a search on Google for a chiropractic clinic and see if it has a listing on Google maps. Even if someone says they are amazing, getting other people to agree is another story.

Step 4: Call The Office
Knowing what the office is about can help you better understand what it has to offer. Get in touch with them and verify if they suit the description on their website and map listing. You’ll be able to tell after a few minutes if the office is a good fit for you or not.

Sports and physical activities play a significant role in many people’s lives; our physiotherapists have vast experience dealing with athletes who appreciate this. Sports involvement, coaching, and/or training are a part of every one of our physiotherapists’ professional lives.

As soon as you are injured while participating in sports or outside of it, one of our physiotherapists will make sure that your rehabilitation brings you back to the level of competition at which you were before your accident. Exercises will contain both rehabilitative and preventative components to the treatment. Exercises for core stability and strength will be combined with sports-specific drills.

What do you mean by the term “Core”?
These deep stabilizing muscles comprise the diaphragm, transverse abdominis, multifidus, and pelvic floor muscles and are together referred to as the core. The core muscles are only anticipatory of the contraction of the body’s big movement muscles, not the real creators of movement. This gives your spinal and pelvic joints the stability they need to protect you as you move.

It is important to have a strong core since it helps to prevent back injuries as well as having an impact on other areas of the body. A strong core helps avoid and recover from hip, knee, ankle, shoulder, elbow, and neck injuries by providing a stable base of support for arm and leg movement. In addition, it aids in the development of greater consistency, stamina, and strength for a variety of daily activities, including sports and work.

To strengthen your body’s deep stabilizing muscles and enhance their timing in connection to other bodily motions, our Abbotsford physiotherapists will instruct you in a precise series of progressive activities. As you continue through the levels, you will learn more dynamic motions that may be customized for your own sport, job, or activity.

IMS/dry needling can be used to treat neuromusculoskeletal conditions. IMS includes evaluating the affected area and inserting a thin and flexible needle into shortened muscles. The needle contracts the muscle, which then relaxes and lengthens in response. There’s nothing injected into the body’s organs or tissues. After the therapy, many clients report that they are hurting for around 24 hours until their pain symptoms lessen or go away completely.

A number of health conditions can benefit from IMS therapy, including:

  • Tennis Elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis)
  • Chronic Lower Back Pain
  • Whiplash injuries of the neck
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Osteoarthritis of the hip
  • Frozen Shoulder

Traction or spinal decompression is used to treat a wide range of usually chronic back and neck problems. In order to decompress the spine at predetermined levels, the decompression/traction device applies a traction force along the spine’s long axis.

Traction and decompression can be used to treat a variety of conditions, including:

  • Low back pain
  • Neck pain
  • Sciatica or other nerve entrapments
  • Disc herniation
  • Disc protrusion
  • Degenerative disc disease
  • Osteoarthritis of the spine
  • Spinal stenosis
  • Decreased range of motion in the neck or low back
  • Pain, numbness, tingling, pins, and needles in the arms or legs

At the beginning of your treatment, your physiotherapist will do a complete evaluation of your condition to see if spinal decompression/traction is a good fit. Along with a spinal evaluation, your physiotherapist will examine your core and any other areas that are connected to your symptoms. You’ll also receive instruction, core and postural exercises, and home exercises if spinal decompression/traction is considered necessary.

Proudly Serving Abbotsford

Vancouver, the Fraser River, and Greater Vancouver are all close by, making Abbotsford a convenient place to live. It is the province’s second-largest municipality after Metro Vancouver, home to an estimated 141,397 residents.

After the Greater Toronto Region and the Greater Vancouver CMA, Abbotsford-Mission has the third-highest proportion of visible minorities in Canada’s census metropolitan area. Tradex, the University of the Fraser Valley, and the Abbotsford International Airport are all located in this area of British Columbia.

Fraser Valley Regional District and British Columbia’s fifth-largest municipality, according to the most recent census data. The Abbotsford–Mission census metropolitan area, which had a population of roughly 180,518 people as of the most recent count, is Canada’s 23rd biggest. Statistics Canada has designated it Canada’s most philanthropic city for nine years in a row for charitable donations.

The 375.55-square-kilometer (145.00-square-mile) metropolis is the province’s most populous. The Canada–U.S. border forms the southernmost limit of the municipality. There are three municipalities in Canada that border it on the west: Langley Township, District of Mission, and City of Chilliwack. South of Abbotsford lies the Washington town of Sumas. Mount Baker (located in Washington state to the southeast of Abbotsford) and the Coast Mountains can be seen from much of the city (to the north).

About 62% of Abbotsford inhabitants are employed by the City of Abbotsford. Another 38 percent travel to Mission, Chilliwack, or the outskirts of Vancouver (primarily Surrey and Langley). More over a quarter of the people who work in Abbotsford come from other parts of the province.

Local economies are among the most diversified in Canada, according to the Conference Board of Canada. Agriculture, transportation, manufacturing, and retail are the major industries of Abbotsford. The city earns more money per acre of agricultural land than the Niagara Region and the North Okanagan combined, according to the USDA.

Fraser Health, which employs around 2,500 people at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre, is the city’s major employer. Cascade Aerospace and Conair Group Inc. are leading the burgeoning aerospace industry as well.

The Abbotsford School District oversees 46 public elementary, middle, and high schools. The “Abbotsford Virtual School” offers more than 30 semestered online courses through a virtual school. Students learn about the video game industry through an innovative animation and modeling program offered by this college.

St. John Brebeuf, Mennonite Educational Institute, and Abbotsford Christian School are among the private schools in the area.

Columbia Bible College, Summit Pacific College, and Career Gate Community College are examples of religious post-secondary institutions in the city, as are the University of the Fraser Valley and the Métis Skills and Employment Centre and CDI College.

Arty Awards, music in Mill Lake Park, and the Christmas Artisan Gift Fair are just some of the free events put on by the Abbotsford Arts Council. Art in the Park, Abbotsford’s Art and Heritage Unity Festival, and the Historical Downtown Art Bench Project are just a few of the initiatives it has been a part of.

Museums from throughout Canada and the world are represented at the Reach Gallery Museum in Winnipeg. In addition to housing a heritage archive, the center hosts various events, educational programs, and training opportunities for the community’s artists and cultural institutions.

We provide regular scheduled service because of its closeness in the east end of Vancouver, WestJet provides regular service from the airport. The annual Abbotsford International Airshow is held at the airport.

Transit options include the Trans-Canada Highway No. 1 and the Abbotsford-Mission Highway No. 11, as well as the Fraser Highway (No. 1A). By way of Abbotsford-Huntingdon/Sumas border crossing, it is possible to pass over to the United States.

The Abbotsford Minor Hockey Association is one of the largest in British Columbia, with over 1000 registered players ranging in age from five to eighteen. In the development of minor hockey programs, this organization is widely regarded as a model and a trailblazer, and some Abbotsford-raised players have gone on to compete at the highest levels. There were eight players from Abbotsford’s 2006 bantam-AAA hockey team that were taken in the WHL Bantam Draft, becoming Western Canadian Bantam Champions that year.
