Located in British Columbia’s Lower Mainland’s Stave River watershed, Hayward Lake serves as a reservoir for the city of Hayward. Ruskin Dam, about 3 kilometers upstream from the Stave River’s junction with the Fraser River at Ruskin, which stands on the Mission-Maple Ridge border, creates Hayward Lake, which is located in the District of Mission about 60 kilometers east of Vancouver. As the tailrace from the Stave Falls Dam creates the lake, it widens to a maximum of 1.5 kilometers when the lengths of the minor inlets are taken into consideration. The lake is 7.5 kilometers long and 0.5 kilometers broad on average.
